More on Obama’s anthropology connection

by on January 16th, 2009

I’ve reported here in the past that my university was the home to Anne Dunham, Obama’s mother. Our alumni magazine is featuring yet another article on Anne. Not a lot new but it is a nice piece if you haven’t yet heard about her work and career and this time … there’s pictures! The “full article is available online”:http://www.hawaii.edu/malamalama/2009/01/lessons-for-president-obama/.

Alex Golub is an assistant professor of anthropology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He studies mining and petroleum development in Papua New Guinea, as well as American culture in to the online game World of Warcraft. You can contact him at rex@savageminds.org

Great coverage, thanks for sharing! First the piece in Anthro Now magazine, and now here, let’s get her name spelled right: it is ANN not ANNE
