More on Ann Dunham
As some of you may know, I teach in the department where Barack Obama’s mother, “Stanley Ann Dunham”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Dunham, received her Ph.D.. There has been a lot of interest “in the press”:http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2008/03/obama200803?currentPage=3 on Ann — as she’s still called around here — and the university recently hosted a “symposium on her time at UH”:http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2008/Sep/12/ln/hawaii809120379.html which featured comments from Alice Dewey, her dissertation supervisor. I couldn’t make the talk, unfortunately, but if you are interested in knowing more you can “read the write up in the Star-Bulletin”:http://starbulletin.com/2008/09/13/news/story09.html or check out the links in this entry for more infos.
