PSA: nytimes.com free for me, maybe free for you too

by on March 15th, 2007

A brief public service announcement:

The New York Times is opening up access permanently to TimesSelect to all students and faculty who have .edu e-mail addresses beginning on March 13.

Not true open access, but still good news for anyone at an educational institution. It works for international .edu domains as well (i.e. .edu.tw).

Alumni forwarding addresses ending in .edu also work. I’m a student in France without an edu address, so this was great news for me.

It’s not just .edu addresses. I did it with an ac.uk address. Not that I think I’ll actually bother to use it much, but I wanted to see if it’d work.
