A great review! I am glad I purchased the book at the last AAA, and now I look forward to reading it even more. It certainly seems that this book will be as fascinating as Condry’s work on Japanese Hip-Hop.

John, I think you’ll get a lot out of it. If I only I had read it ten years ago it would have changed my dissertation. Condry did by design what I wound up doing by accident the whole time wondering what the hell was going on.

And yes, there is so much to love about the Idea Channel!

Matt, thanks so much for this. I instantly went to Amazon and downloaded The Soul of Anime to the Kindle reader on my iPad. Just started reading it; but it does, indeed, look like a fabulous book. Very relevant, too, to my current research on Japanese advertising creatives.
