		<description><![CDATA[[...] Rice University Press died a somewhat ignominious death in 1996, but like the souffle that rises three times, it is now reincarnated, this time as a fully peer reviewed electronic publisher. In this case, electronic publication seems to mean electronic distribution rather than purely electronic publishing, since the materials will also be distributed in print on demand through Qoop.com. According to Inside Higher Ed, it&#8217;ll be hosted through Connexions. (Thanks to my colleague Chris Kelty at Savage Minds for the link.) As Chris mentions, it would be an excellent opportunity for publishing things which otherwise might not have a huge print run, like language books.
