Just want to reinforce the message that having a good partner/critic/editor is a very good thing, indeed, for a writer. In my case, the individual in question is my wife/business partner/best friend Ruth McCreery, and I've noticed that it helps a lot that both her writing style and thinking process are very different from my own. My relationship to Ruth seems very much like the relationship that Joanna has with Pál.
